    All Sixth Graders


    Assessment Process

     

    Sixth Grade teachers will provide the following information on all students

    1.  Scores on the post-tests of all chapters (units) taught (at least 10

      separate scores)

    2.   Teacher Rating Scales in these four areas

    a.   Responsibility

    b.   Organization

    c.   Behavior

    d.   Need for a Challenge in Math

     

    The Administration will compile this information and identify those sixth graders who meet all of the following criteria:

    1.   Overall average on the unit tests of 93 or better

    2.   A  composite score of at least 16 on the Teacher Rating Scale listed above.  (Each of the four areas will be assessed on a scale of 1 (never or 5 (always.)

    3.   NJSLA score of level 4 or greater. (Please note:  This score has been modified due to the change in scoring by the NJDOE).


    The Superintendent upon recommendation of the Vice Principal and teaching staff will make the final determination.

    *All Seventh Graders in Regular Math

    Assessment  Process


    Seventh Grade teachers will provide the following information on all students.


    1.   Scores on the post-test of all chapters (units) taught (at least 10

      separate scores)


    2.   Teacher Rating Scales in these four areas

    a.   Responsibility

    b.   Organization

    c.   Behavior

    d.   Need for a Challenge in Math


    The Vice Principal will provide student scores of the Math Stanine from the NJSLA assessment.


    The Vice Principal will compile this information and identify those seventh graders who meet all of the following criteria:


    1. A composite score of at least 16 on the Teacher Rating Scale.  (Each of the four areas will be assessed on a scale of 1 (never) to 5 (always)
    2. An average score of A/93 or better on chapter unit tests.
    3. A score of 93 or better on the seventh grade final exam, and a NJSLA assessment score of level 4 or greater and an 85 or better on the Algebra Diagnostic Exam administered in the spring. (Please note- the scores have been modified due to the changes in scoring by the NJDOE.

    Final determinations will be made by the Superintendent upon the recommendations of the Vice Principal and teaching staff.
