• The IC HOPE Team  has sponsored“series of fortunate events” to raise awareness of the problem of hunger in our area and to help to solve that problem.  Thank you for joining our efforts; we sincerely appreciate your support.All proceeds are donated to the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.    

    The Year in Review

    The IC HOPE transition team reached its target of 700 jars of peanut butter and jelly for the FoodBank; thanks to everyone who participated. The team delivered 1,140 pounds of PB&J to the FoodBank after its first event:  

    August - Members of both the Class of 2012 and the Class of 2013 were invited to participate in the Media Kick-Off event for the Students Change Hunger campaign at the FoodBank.


    September Become a sponsor and have your name listed on the official IC HOPE t-shirt.  Forms were available in the main office, at Back-to-School Nights, and from IC HOPE team members.  T-shirts and IC HOPE bracelets were sold in October.

    After-school bake sale and plant sale

    October       Peanut Butter and Jelly DriveDonate PLASTIC containers of peanut butter and jelly.  The class with the highest number of containers will receive a prize.  IC HOPE will deliver the PB&J to the FoodBank as part of the Holiday Hunger Challenge.  Congratulations to 1-H. 

    Brielle Elementary School artists have been invited to create an art display in the lobby of the FoodBank, Route 66, Neptune.  Original art work by Brielle students will be on display there during October.

    Car Wash...October 6...100% of the proceeds go to the FoodBank.

    Contribute to the statewide campaign to collect 1 million pounds of food by donating cans of soup. 

    Buy a sub at Jersey Mike's in Manasquan and a percent of the sale will go to the FoodBank.

    November - November 15 - Snacks for sale at the home soccer game.

    December - December 14 - SUPER SALE...Cupcake Wars - 3:05!!!    Chairs for sale!  Plants for sale!

    January - Babysitting Bash - Make a reservation for our babysitting service.  K-4 students can enjoy dinner, games, art, and basketball with the 8th grade team during parent conferences.

    Janaury 30 Congratulations to the IC HOPE 2013 team.  At the FoodBank Awards event, the team was honored with the Philip N. Connelly Spirit of Giving Award, and the "Division 4" Award for contributions to the FoodBank.  Lt. Governor Guadagno announced that IC HOPE has also won the first-ever Governor's Cup.

    February - The Lt. Governor presented the Governor's Cup to the IC HOPE team at a reception that we hosted on February 28.

    March - Join the team for the Super Sale (pretzels and snacks), the 8th grade vs. faculty bowling event,  and Bingo Night (Thanks, 2nd & 3rd graders for this great idea!) (grades K-4).  All proceeds go to the FoodBank. 

    April - Buddy Day and fruit snack collection (K-2 students)  Thanks to your generosity, the team will deliver 155 pounds of fruit snacks to the FoodBank on May 2!

    May - May 3 - Pretzel sale - Wear your IC HOPE t-shirt andreceive a free pretzel as our thanks for your support!  This will be the last day to order an IC HOPE 2013 t-shirt.

    June - The team was awarded a $1000 grant from YUM! Brands, the Lift a Life Foundation, and USA TODAY for its leadership in the fight against hunger. The money was presented to Peter Grote and Diana Flippo of the FoodBank by the 2013 IC HOPE Leadership Scholarship winners.
