This year we welcome a new Spanish program for the 5th - 8th grades called "Español Santillana". The overall goal of this program is the communicative competence of students in the Spanish Language by means of cultural awareness activities that focus on the gradual development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in each level. The program's specific objectives are to introduce students to Hispanic and Hispanic American culture, foster a positive attitude toward language acquisition and provide a solid foundation for basic communication skills. All of these objectives will prepare our students for their high school and college experiences.
Español Santillana explores languages and cultures through explicit presentation and integration of the 5Cs: Communication, Culture, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities.
More information about the program can be found on www.fansdelespanol.com
